İstanbul

Evin içinde bir oda, odada İstanbul
Odanın içinde bir ayna, aynada İstanbul
Adam sigarasını yaktı, bir İstanbul dumanı
Kadın çantasını açtı, çantada İstanbul
Çocuk bir olta atmıştı denize, gördüm
Çekmeğe başladı, oltada İstanbul
Bu ne biçim su, bu nasıl şehir
Şişede İstanbul, masada İstanbul
Yürüsek yürüyor, dursak duruyor, şaşırdık
Bir yanda o, bir yanda ben, ortada İstanbul
İnsan bir kere sevmeye görsün, anladım
Nereye gidersen git, orada İstanbul.

Istanbul

A room inside the house, inside the room Istanbul,
A mirror inside the room, Istanbul on the mirror
The man lit up his cigarette, an Istanbul smoke
The woman opened up her bag, in the bag Istanbul
The child had thrown to the sea a fishing line, I saw
He started to pull out, on the fishing line Istanbul
What kind of water is this, what kind of a city
In the bottle Istanbul, on the table Istanbul
Walks when we walk, stops when we stop, we’re confused
On one side she, one side me, in the middle Istanbul
Once a person loves, I understood
Wherever you go, there’s  Istanbul.
